The 7th VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open has got off to a successful start with top-class golf and plenty of birdies. After the first round at Migros Golfpark Holzhäusern, Sweden’s Kajsa Arwefjäll leads the field with a strong round of 64 (-7). Just one stroke behind her are the Spaniards Luna Sobrón Galmes and Amaia Latorre.
Other top international players were also in fine form. The 2023 defending champion, Alexandra Försterling, is just as much in contention as several of her Spanish rivals. The Swede Moa Svedenskiold also attracted attention, briefly taking the lead on her debut on the Ladies European Tour.
From a Swiss perspective, Vanessa Knecht and Elena Colombo can harbour hopes of reaching the final round. Both opened the tournament with a round of 70 strokes (-1) and are in the middle of the leaderboard after the first day.
As well as exciting top-class golf, visitors can look forward to an attractive supporting programme running until Saturday. Admission to the only Ladies European Tour event in Switzerland is free.
